A Level 2 charger needs its own 240-volt circuit, and on most Houston-area homes that means work at the panel before anything gets mounted on the garage wall. We handle the whole job, permit included.
What a Level 2 install actually involves
Almost every charger sold today is Level 2, which runs on 240 volts and adds somewhere around 25 to 40 miles of range an hour. That is a different circuit from the one your dryer is on, and it has to be run from the panel to wherever the car parks.
The part people do not expect is the panel. Older Spring and Klein homes are often on a 100-amp service with no spare capacity, so the charger install turns into a panel conversation first. We check that before quoting, not after.
We pull the permit, run the circuit, mount the unit and test it under load. If your charger came with the car and is still in the box, that is fine, we will install it. If you have not bought one yet, we will tell you what will work with your panel.

EV Charger Installation: common questions
Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger?
Sometimes. A 200-amp panel with free breaker space is usually fine. A 100-amp panel that is already full is usually not. We run a load calculation before quoting so you know either way.
Can you install a charger I already bought?
Yes. Most people buy the charger with the car or online, and we wire and mount whatever unit you have. We will flag it if the model needs more amperage than your service can give.
Do you pull the permit?
Yes. EV charger circuits are permitted work in this area and we handle the paperwork and the inspection as part of the job.
How long does the install take?
A straightforward garage install next to the panel is often a few hours. A long conduit run across the house, or a panel upgrade first, turns it into a full day or two visits.
